Can ChatGPT trade crypto for you?
ChatGPT on its own can analyze a market and draft a strategy, but it does not hold an exchange account, run on a schedule or enforce risk limits. To trade, a language model needs a connected account, an execution layer and rules it cannot override. DXAP provides those around a model you choose, on your own Hyperliquid account.

| Decision | DXAP | Alternative approach |
|---|---|---|
| Watches the market | Runs on a schedule and on triggers | Only when you send a message |
| Places orders | Through a trade-only Hyperliquid key, after policy checks | Not by itself |
| Knows your positions | Reads your account on every turn | Only what you paste in |
| Explains decisions | Every turn recorded; ask why in chat | Explains what you ask, when you ask |
What a chat assistant can and cannot do
In a chat window a model answers when you ask. It does not watch the market between messages, keep track of your open positions unless you paste them in, or place orders by itself. That makes it useful for research and for writing a strategy, and not enough for running one.
What an agent adds
An agent runs the model on a schedule or when a trigger fires, gives it your current positions and market data, and turns its decision into an order. In DXAP that order passes a policy engine first, and the whole turn is recorded, so you can see what the model saw and why it acted.
Choosing the model
DXAP lets you pick the model behind each agent from the models offered in the app. The limits, execution and record stay the same whichever model you choose, so you can compare models on your own strategy rather than on a demo.
Put it into practice
Use a chat assistant to turn a trading idea into plain rules, then paste those rules into a DXAP strategy card, set limits and let the agent run them.
Questions about this workflow
Which models can I use in DXAP?
You choose from the models listed in the app, and the list changes as models are added. The agent's limits and record work the same way for every model.
Can a chat assistant connect straight to Hyperliquid?
Not by default. Connecting any assistant to a live account needs an execution tool and a way to limit what it can sign, so check who holds the key before you connect one.
