Hosted vs self-hosted trading agents

Use a hosted platform when your priority is directing a strategy rather than maintaining trading infrastructure. Self-hosting gives you responsibility for the software, credentials, uptime and upgrades. DXAP is a hosted Hyperliquid agent platform: you manage the strategy and account permissions.

What hosting removes

With DXAP, you do not need to keep a laptop running or deploy an execution server. You still choose the strategy, fund the account, configure limits and review decisions. Hosting transfers software operation to the platform; it does not transfer responsibility for market exposure or make a strategy profitable.

What self-hosting adds

A self-hosted setup requires a runtime, network access, credential handling, monitoring and recovery from failures. It can be appropriate if you need custom code or complete control of deployment. Separate that requirement from custody: software running locally may still trade an account held at a third-party venue.

Compare the whole operating cost

Include subscriptions, infrastructure and model usage where applicable. DXAP’s software charge is tied to executed volume, with no subscription or separate model bill. Time spent maintaining a bot is a different cost from exchange trading fees. Ask who notices a stopped process and who is responsible for restoring it.

Put it into practice

Write down the tasks you want to own: strategy, limits, account funding, server updates, credential rotation and incident recovery. A hosted agent is a fit when you want the first three and want the platform to operate the software.

Questions about this workflow

Must my browser stay open for DXAP to trade?

DXAP runs the agent on its servers. Keeping a browser tab open is not what operates the agent.

Does self-hosting mean non-custodial?

No. Hosting describes where software runs; custody describes who controls funds. Inspect both the venue account and trading permissions.
